Paper stack mass calculator
What is the calculated mass of my identical paper sheets?
Use your sheet dimensions, grammage in grams per square metre and physical sheet count to estimate paper mass.
Your sheets and grammage
Use the measured dimensions of identical rectangular sheets and their own grammage, not paper thickness or a pound basis-weight label. Width, height and grammage must be positive; fractions are allowed. Sheet count is a whole number and may be 0.
How the estimate works
Multiply width by height for square centimetres, then divide by 10000 for square metres. Multiply that unrounded area by your grammage for grams per sheet, then by physical sheet count for total grams. Divide total grams by 1000 for kilograms. Count a sheet once, even when both sides are printed.
A = W × H ÷ 10000 · m²
m = A × GSM · g
M = m × N · g
kg = M ÷ 1000Model for identical rectangular paper sheets with uniform user-supplied grammage. It does not infer thickness, stack height, material density, US pound basis weight, paper quality or printer compatibility. It adds no ink, toner, lamination, binding, covers, wrapping, box or pallet mass. It is not a scale measurement or a guarantee of actual mass, postage or shipping cost. Check the real dimensions and grammage; weigh the finished parcel when actual mass is needed.

Check the filled example
Chosen example: sheets 20 × 25 cm, grammage 100 g/m², 40 physical sheets. One sheet is 500 cm² = 0.05 m² and 5 g. Total paper mass is 200 g = 0.2 kg. These are example inputs, not a standard paper size or recommended grammage.
